We have old homes in Melrose Place, and they need our occasional care to remain safe and continue building equity. Question is: when resources are limited, how do we prioritize repairs? Joining us this month is fellow Melrose resident Clayton Weeks to help us answer that question. Clayton is a home inspector with a solid reputation for quality work in EBR and other parts of the state. Neighborhoods change. We currently have 10 homes on the market or heading to the market in Melrose Place, several of them clearly marketed to flippers. Altogether, that's 3% of our housing stock. Prospective home buyers are looking - or will be looking - not only at the houses but our neighborhood as a whole. It's an unavoidable refrain in real estate: you don't buy a house, you buy a neighborhood. Helping us unpack this truth will be special guest Ray Williams, a real estate broker with 25 years of experience in the Baton Rouge market with a specialty in returning distressed properties back to commerce.  As good stewards of our community, how can we attract homeowners (and investors) that will also be good stewards?  Let's talk about it on October 18th.
